Orphanage owner molests inmate

An orphanage owner arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly molesting a Class IX student, who was an inmate in his orphanage. Police had booked a case against owner Jadi Madhava Rao, founder of Aadharana, following a complaint from the victim.

The girl, a Class IX student from the orphanage, in a complaint to the police, said that Madhav Rao used to call her to his room on the premises and molest her.

Following the complaint, a case under Section 354A of IPC and under relevant sections of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act was registered against Rao and he was arrested.

As per the website of Aadarana orphanage, Rao founded the home for “orphans and needy students in 2003”.

“Aadarana means to hug orphans and provide them shelter in a homely atmosphere. It was established to help provide orphan children with accommodation, education and knowledge all under one roof compensating the love and affection of the parents, which they lost,” says the website.

Earlier, TS Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy had inaugurated the new building of Aadarana at LB Nagar.
