Lingerie model of leading shopping website harassed online

Lingerie model of leading shopping website approaches the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) after the website refused to pull down her photographs in “intimate garments”. Their modelling contract had already expired.

The incident raises questions of how ethically the business of lingerie modelling is conducted in India. The contracts allowed usage of the pictures for one year only.

The portal continuing to “unauthorisedly” use the snaps and other websites also sharing them off and on, her parents and friends’ circle got to know about it.

Unknown people began trolling her on Facebook and Instagram,
then the situation got worse. The woman started receiving obscene calls and soliciting messages on her cellphone. Several marriage proposals were also called off.

The Indian lingerie market is billed at over $3 billion and only one per cent of it is said to be online.
