These are the 8 reasons why Malayalis are the best kind of people !

You can call them mallus, malayalis or Keralites. But please don’t insult them by calling Madrasis. Keralites are everywhere.  No matter which end of the world you go to, you will find at least one malayali there.

Malayalis are undoubtedly the best kind of people. And here’s why:

Banana Chips

Kerala is popular for its delicious banana chips. And they are so good, you could have it all day. And it often happens that a Malayali will always have meals with a side of banana chips. And that’s not the only kind of chips they make, they have chips made out of jackfruit and tapioca and they are equally good. If you have a Mallu friend, tell them to bring you a packet when they go back home, and they will bring you back two !

They have the best movies

Everyone knows that this is not a lie. They come up with the best scripts that have the best story line and with a moral at the end of every movie. They also have this knack for leaving the viewers longing for more. And let us not forget the fact that Bollywood does remakes of famous Malayalam movies after a couple of years. Which we can say without any doubt that it is not as good as the original.

They have great food

Not saying the rest of India does not have amazing food, in fact, the whole of India is filled with mouthwatering dishes. But there is something about Kerala food that makes one feel so homely and also it is never dull eating off a banana leaf. Plates and cutlery are too mainstream anyway. And with a state that has all religions in almost equal proportions, Christmas, Onam or Eid, good food is always guaranteed.

They do justice to their name ‘God’s Own Country’

It is no surprise Kerala is labelled as God’s Own Country. It is India’s No.1 state for a reason, and they do deserve to be for a number of reasons. They have the highest literacy rate, low population growth over the last decade, declared the world’s first baby-friendly state by WHO and UNICEF, the country’s first state to pass the transgender policy and to employ them in jobs and the first state to have gender equality. Don’t they deserve a round of applause?

 They are sweetest

Malayalis are most chill people you will ever meet. They are friendly, welcoming and will always offer you a place to stay at theirs. You go to any house of a Malayali and they will not let you leave without eating. They will feed you till you are full enough to explode ! And no matter what, they will always be there to help you, even if you are a stranger. Most of the Keralites think about others more than themselves.

They are broad minded

Compared to the rest of India, Keralites are known to be more broad-minded when it comes to certain things, which is why the people are more tolerant ! They can be a little judgemental but they are known to adapt to new things easily. And this is why they get along with everyone with ease and are very social people. No one is a stranger to them, but a new friend.

They are honest

Kerala has its crimes, but the crime rate is much lower than the rest of the country. That’s one of the things they don’t tolerate. Most Keralites are honest and reliable people. If you want the honest truth, they don’t sugarcoat it, they will tell you exactly how they feel. So don’t be surprised or hurt if you hear something that you didn’t want to hear from them.

They love the Big ‘M’s

Keralites are very passionate about their ‘M’s which is Malayalam movies and most importantly their popular actors Mammootty and Mohanlal. They love their language, which is considered to be the hardest and they are loyal fans of Mammootty and Mohanlal. Talk bad about Keralites they will tolerate to an extent, talk bad about the two actors, well, let’s just say you need to find a good hiding place.

Kerala is not only known for the people, but for its scenic beauty of lush greenery and tranquil backwaters. If you haven’t visited the state already, it is never too late to see the place and meet some of the amazing people ever !
