While the UP Madrasa Shiksha Parishad issued circular asking madrasas to hoist the Tricolour on August 15, Islamic schools in the city have been doing so for years.
Maulana Raheemuddin Ansari, general secretary, Deeni Madrasa Board, said, “It is a good practice and will help students get acquainted with historical events.” There are nearly 600 madrasas in the city and about 1200 in the entire state.
