Investigation reveals grave negligence in Ryan International, more arrests imminent

The principal and some teachers have been arrested at the Ryan International School in Gurgaon, where a seven-year-old boy was murdered in a toilet on Friday. The arrests follow an investigation that has pointed at serious security lapses at the school after a school bus conductor was arrested for the Class 2 student’s murder after a sexual assault attempt. It is told that the students and the work personal share the same washroom. All four Ryan international schools will remain shut except for students of Classes 6 to 12, who will sit for exams from Wednesday

The investigation reports point out that the students’ washroom was easily accessible to unauthorized entrants The school was filed negligence charges along with other major lapses — an incomplete boundary wall, expired fire extinguishers, openings at the back of toilets that could allow unauthorized entry and exit, cameras not installed at appropriate places and not getting the non-teaching staff’s police verification done. The investigation was conducted by a three member special investigation team (SIT) formed by the Gurgaon administration.
