One day International match fixing, #OperationCricketGate

Cricket scandal exposed hours before the big match that is to take place on October 25, 2017.

After the humiliating defeat between the India- New Zealand cricket match that took place in the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on the 23rd October 2017, the second match between the two teams was due to take place today at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. Just hours before the match was to take place, the curator invites the undercover investigators onto the field and later has a chat with them, promising them a customized pitch for the match between India and New Zealand that is to take place on the 25th October. He also gives them complete access and vital match information to them. If questioned, Salgaonkar said that he can always deny the charges against him. He promises to deliver a stylized playing ground that will benefit the bookies. The ICC had rated the pitch prepared by him as poor on an occasion.

The BCCI secretary, Amitabh Chaudhary was shocked and appalled to hear the news, reported that the guilty will be punished and strict action will take place.

The BCCI has zero tolerance for such corruption within its organization, it said. Pandurang Salgaonkar, the curator of the Pune Cricket Stadium, welcomes with open arms investigators who posed as bookies into the stadium; a Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) and International Cricket Council (ICC) rule that was violated. Pandurang Salgaonkar was a fast bowler for Maharashtra from the days of the yore.

The curator will be suspended and sacked. Even under such distress, it is touted that the match will take place as required. However there will be tight security and vigil during the match.

The scandal has come as a blow to the BCCI which is already handling previous allegations of match fixing.
