Padmavathi: People make threatenings and move freely : Dia Mirza surprises how it is possible….

Bollywood actor Dia Mirza has raised serious questions about the condition of women’s safety in the country. This has come at a time when the entire country is embroiled in the bitter controversy cloaking Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film Padmavati, in which Deepika Padukone is playing the titular role.

Mirza, without taking the name of period drama, said people go on threatening women on national TV, supporting a “misplaced idea of honour”.

“People who make violent threats against one of our women to serve a misplaced idea of honour and pride on national television walk freely.

“What kind of country have we become? How can we ever hope to make our women feel safe if this is the way we continue to treat women?” Mirza tweeted.

Along with Deepika, Bhansali has also received death threats by various Rajput groups over his alleged “wrongful” portrayal of queen Padmavati in the movie.

Padmavati was scheduled to be released on December 1 but following the violent protests the producers have postponed the release date.
