Aadhaar Card : How to verify your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and email ID online

The 12-digit identification number Aadhaar has now become essential for a number of important tasks.

We need to link it to our bank accounts, PAN number, Mutual Funds, PPF account and insurance policies.

Steps to varify your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and email ID online

Step 1: Open UIDAI’s website (https://uidai.gov.in/) to get going

Step 2 :Go to ‘Aadhaar services’. Click on the option: ‘Verify Email/Mobile Number’

Step 3: The page that opens will ask you to fill in your — Aadhaar number, email ID or your mobile number and the Security Code provided next to the blank box.

 

Step 4: Once you’ve filled in these details click on ‘Get One Time Password’, you’ll receive OTP on the email ID/mobile number shared.

 

Step 5: Enter the code in the blank box and click on “Verify OTP”.

Step 6: If your mobile number and your email ID is linked, you will be redirected to page that says your number or email ID is verified.

Step 7: Remember, once you have verified the mobile number, it will say: ‘The mobile number you entered has already been registered in our records.’

Step 8: If your e-mail ID/mobile number have not been linked, you won’t be able to proceed and request for OTP. It’ll say that the email ID or number provided doesn’t match.

Step 9: If your mobile number is registered in Aadhaar, you can update your mobile and email through online SSUP portal.

If your registered mobile number is not linked to Aadhar, you need to visit the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre to update your mobile number. No additional documents are required.
