A teenage boy was arrested and five juveniles were detained for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl over the past few months in Pune’s Kondhwa locality.
The incident happened over a few months later when the girl’s father had taken her to the doctor for her severe stomach ache, a doctor informed about this. The doctor also instructed them to inform the matter to the concerned police station.
“The 18-year old first came into contact with the victim five months ago when he went to her house and took her out on the pretext of buying sweets. He was later joined by other minors who raped her turn by turn over the period,” Kondhwa Police Station Incharge Milind Gaikwad said.
The juveniles are aged 12, 10, 10, 9 and 6. A case has been registered against them under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police said.
