Big relief from High Court for employees of Baba Ramdev’s firm

High Court relief for employees of Baba Ramdev’s firm

It’s a big relief for employees of a Ramdev’s firm. In a major development, the Uttarakhand High Court on Tuesday upheld its single bench order directing yoga guru Ramdev’s Divya Yog Pharmacy to clear the salaries of its 93 employees for 13 years.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice K M Joseph and Justice U C Dhyani upheld the earlier order of Justice Rajiv Sharma in favour of the employees saying they should be paid their salary for 13 years since 2005 by the firm. Collectively the salary of the employees for the period amounts to over Rs 14.50 crore.

The Divya Yog Pharmacy came under the scanner of the high court when the employees approached following a dispute with the firm over their salaries arising in 2015.

Earlier, it was reported that Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved is likely to partner with eight leading etailers and aggregators to give a big push to online sales of its swadeshi range of FMCG products. The Haridwar-based company is expected to enter into agreements this month with major online retailers — Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, 1MG, bigbasket, grofers, shopclues and snapdeal — a step through which its range of products will be available on various online platforms.

“We are now going into massive way. Now, we would have an organised and systematic agreement with the players to place our all product online, so that it could reach to customers to the end point,” Patanjali spokesperson S K Tijarawala said.
