Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play: expected specification, price

Motorola is reportedly gearing up to launch a slew of new G series smartphones. If rumours are to be believed, the company will launch — Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play at the MWC 2018 in February.

Moto G6 will apparently abandon the all-metal unibody design similar to its predecessor with metal chassis and 3D glass back. The Moto G6 might sport a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixel along with 18:9 aspect ratio.

It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 chipset. The Moto G6 will be available in two variants — 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. As for the camera, the device will supposedly sport dual rear cameras with a combination of 12MP and 5MP sensors and 16MP sensor on the front. The Moto G6 might be fuelled by a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone will be offered in black, silver and rose gold colours.

Moto G6 Plus, on the other hand, will apparently sport a 5.93-inch display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by Snapdragon 630 chipset clubbed with 6GB RAM. The device might come packed with a 3200mAh battery. Optics wise, it seems that both the G6 and G6 Plus phone will have the same 12MP+5MP dual rear camera setup and 16MP front camera. The handset will be available in three colours — deep indigo, nimbus and dark lake.

Both the phones might feature front-mounted fingerprint sensor as opposed to rear mounted sensor seen on other smartphones with a fullscreen display. The Moto G6 is expected to be priced at $240 (approximately Rs 15,400) in the US, while G6 Plus could be priced around $330 (approximately Rs 21,000).

Talking about Moto G6 Play, the handset could sport a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 720 pixels. The device will draw its power from a 4000mAh battery. The Moto G6 Play will feature the fingerprint sensor on the rear side.

Besides, Motorola will also refresh the Moto G5 series in terms of design and specifications.
