6-year-old dies in hospital, sexual assault suspected
A six-year-old girl died on Friday, a day after she was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi with injuries to private parts. The child was in decompensated septic shock with respiratory failure and multi-organ dysfunction. Doctors suspect the girl was sexually assaulted. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
According to the police, the child was brought to the pediatric emergency ward of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Thursday around 3.57 pm. A senior police officer said at the time she was admitted, the girl was bleeding with injuries to her private parts. The child was in decompensated septic shock with respiratory failure and multi-organ dysfunction, doctors told police.

“On detailed examination the doctor suspected sexual assault for which a medico legal report was asked for. Inspite of the best efforts of doctors, the child expired at 12.45 am on Friday. The body has been sent for post mortem.
Primary medical reports suggest the girl had died due to severe infection,” said DCP (Outer) MN Tiwari.
Tiwari added that so far neither the family members nor medical reports had suggested any sexual assault against the victim.
