‘People disappointed with BJP; Congress will be back in power’: Ashok Gehlot

Speaking to a National New paper Congress general secretary in charge of Gujarat Ashok Gehlot said that he is confident about Congress win in Rajasthan. He said that the there is so much anger against Vasundhara Raje Government in Rajasthan.

He said” If you go to any part of Rajasthan, people will tell you that Congress will come back to power. BJP won 163 seats in 2013 but they have frittered away the mandate. Governance has come to a virtual halt while law and order have worsened in the state.”

 

He also accused that the present BJP government weakened the schemes of the previous Congress governments. He also accused BJP government of aiding Cow-Vigilante’s in the sate. According to him, the police is harassing the victims rather than capturing the real culprits.

He also didn’t have a good opinion about the union Budget 2018. According to him, it was a ‘poor’ budget.

He also said that though BJP tried to damage the image of Rahul Gandhi during the Gujarat election, they have been unsuccessful in it. According to him, opponents threw the Bofors gun and foreigner issue on Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi respectively. But nothing worked.

On the question of Rajasthan CM candidate for Congress, he replied that High command will choose it when the time comes.
