AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi while speaking in Lok Sabha demanded a law to punish anyone who calls an Indian Muslim ‘Pakistani’. He demanded a three-year jail term for anyone found guilty of the crime.
The demand comes following Bareilly district magistrate Raghvendra Vikram Singh’s Facebook post in which he had questioned the ‘ trend’ of entering Muslim localities and then raising anti-Pakistan slogans and then create the ruckus.
His Facebook post was a follow up to the Kasganj violence which occurred when stones were pelted on a motorcycle rally which was taken out to celebrate Republic Day.Faced with severe backlash and threats, he later deleted the post but maintained that he stood by his remarks.
The violence which quickly spread leads to the death of a youth and also the arrest of more than 100 people.
