BJP accuses Congress President Rahul Gandhi of insulting national song “vandematharam” -Watch Video

The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting the national song- Vande Mataram. Amit Malviya, spokesperson of the BJP said that Rahul Gandhi was seen walking out of an event when the national song Vande Mataram- was being sung.

Amit Malviya tweeted a video of Rahul Gandhi allegedly directing Congress leader KC Venugopal to cut the national song Vande Mataram short, in Dakshina Kannada at a public event. In the video Rahul Gandhi can be seen pointing to his watch after which Venugopal can be heard saying, “Just sing one line and finish it.”

Brijesh Kalappa, Congress spokesperson denied the charges and said that such an event never happened. “Does Rahul Gandhi not have time for the national song?” Malviya questioned. Taking to Twitter, Malviya said, “Well done Rahul Gandhi” as he tweeted the video. The video shows Gandhi sitting on the dias with Congress functionaries. Gandhi makes gestures, asking the organisers, to wrap up quickly. The video then shows the functionaries to just sing one line of the song to ensure the the Congress party President can rush.

Meanwhile, the Congress party hit back at the BJP saying- the “video circulated by BJP is fake”. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the video has been aired by a television channel and that the BJP has nothing to do with creating or doctoring the video.
