Fahad and Nazriya are here when national film award ceremony is held ahead Fazil, the first of the artists who protested against the distribution of Union Minister Smriti Irani to replace the President of National Film Awards.
Fahad was also out of the way the Malayalee stars boycotted the award ceremony later in the media. His wife Nazriya was also with him for the awards ceremony. Fahadh was given the best actor in supporting role.

Fahad Fazil and Nazriya came out of the hotel following the controversy. Fahad also found time to take a selfie with the fans. When asked about the response from the actor, he replied to the press, ‘What do you mean, you all are aware of everything’.
Nazriya later shared her Facebook page with audiences showing her a meal at the Bukhara hotel in New Delhi. The picture was received many comments supporting Fahad’s boycott.
When the controversy had broken out on May 3, the President’s secretary Ashok Malik had said that Rashtrapati Bhavan had conveyed to every ministry about the new protocol that President Kovind had set for all official functions.
