Road Rage Case: Navjot Singh Sidhu won’t go to Jail.

The eloquent and dynamic Navjot Singh Sidhu can relax as Supreme Court on Tuesday acquitted him of culpable homicide, but has been fined Rs 1000 in a 30 year old road rage case. The Supreme Court said Sidhu is guilty of “voluntarily hurting” a 65 year old man who later died in the hospital in Patiala in 1988.
The Supreme Court observed that there was no personal enmity between the two and that Sidhu had not used any weapon. Also the fact that the case was 30 years old worked in Sidhus favour.

After being acquitted, Sidhu said “I have messaged Rahul Gandhi ji and Priyanka ji that my life is yours. I want to thank those who prayed for me and I forgive those who pointed fingers at me.” “

The incident that led to the case occurred in December 27, 1988 when Navjot Sidhu and his friend Rupinder Singh beat up Gurnam Singh over an issue of car parking. Gurnam was taken to hospital where he was declared dead. Sidhu argued that the man was arrested because of cardiac arrest, but Sidhu and Rupinder was booked. The legal war lasted for thirty years until it was settled today.
