Inaugural IPL Women’s T20: Harmanpreet decides to field first ( Trailblazers vs Supernova)

Harmanpreet Kaur’s Supernovas take on the Smriti Mandhana-led Trailblazers in a one-off, “IPL-styled” T20 face-off, the game will lay down an early marker for something that has been brewing behind the scenes for women’s cricket in India for quite a while.

Harmeet won the toss and elected to field first against Supernovas. Smriti Mandana and Alyssa Healy open the batting for Trailblazers.  As per the reports, Trailblazers were at 38/3 at the end of 5 overs.

The success of the Indian Premier League saw domestic T20 leagues for men spurting all over. And then the pressure mounted on the BCCI to replicate something similar for the women.
