Central Government to rein in IAS dominance; Vaccancies open in Joint Secretary Positions

Central Government is going to rein in the IAS dominance in the upper echelons of governance. As a part of this, for the position of 10 Joint Secretaries, applications from non-IAS officers are invited.

The recent notification is for the Joint Secretary vacancies in Revenue, Financial Service, Agriculture, Co-operation, Farmer Welfare, Road Transport, Highway Shipping, Environment, Economic Affairs, Climate Change, Renewable Energy, Trade etc.

The candidates should have completed 40 years of age as on July 1. Degree from a recognized university is the basic qualification to apply. The placement is on contract basis for 3 years. It may be extended to 5 years later.

Monthly salary may be from 1.44 lakhs to 2.18 lakhs/month. Apart from that, the appointed candidates will be liable for all the allowances and facilities as entitled to the Central Government employees.

Candidates should have a mandatory minimum 15 years of experience. The state, private sector employees who are currently working in the similar fields can apply for the post. The last date for the online application is June 15.
