In a tragic incident, a bus falls off a highway killing 10 of its passengers and injuring many more.
10 people died and 9 others were injured when the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation bus that carried them, skidded off the Rishikesh Gangotri Highway into a 250 meter deep gorge near Suryadhar on Thursday.
The State government has arranged for helicopter services to transport the injured to AIIMS as soon as possible. The government has announced its decision to grant a solatium of Rs 2 Lakh each to the nearest relative of the deceased. Those injured in the incident will receive a compensation of Rs 50,000 each.

Following the incident, police teams, fire department team from Tehri and Disaster Response Team from Chamba reached the spot. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered to deal with the accident.
As per a report, 25 people were traveling on the bus.
