Indian Batsmen Show Grit, England Makes Late Inroads

India: 307/6 in 87 Overs

After completely dismantling England in the second session with a huge partnership between Rahane and Kohli, India lost both Batsmen in the next session. Rahane edged one off Broad which was caught by Cook at the last moment while Kohli edged one to Stokes off Adil Rashid, who until that moment did not look like ever taking a wicket. Check out the score card.

Having lost both well-set Batsmen India could have had the scares of another batting collapse, but a gritty Hardik Pandya and a flamboyant Rishabh Pant took India along. pant looked fearless and adventurous in his approach, hitting Rashid for a six in the second ball he faced while Pandya played a patient watchful knock. Just when it seemed Pandya and Pant would take India to safety, the former edged one to slip, making him James Anderson’s 100th test wicket.

India would look to score around 400 and hope for the conditions to support a little more when they bowl in the coming days.
