UK; It really looks like a bag of garbage bag ,It’s a piece of artwork that is expected to fetch at least £51,000 (Rs 49.6 lakh). The artwork titled Dump is the creation of British artist Gavin Turk, a modernist artist who studied at the Royal College of Art. It’s a lump of bronze moulded in the shape of bin bag and painted black instead of a bag full of smelly rubbish.
The Phillips Auction House is selling the limited edition works on behalf of Turk. The bin bag artwork has gone viral on Facebook, with users making fun of the design of the artwork.Despite the mockery online, one of the limited Dump items was sold for a whopping amount in the past. With an estimated sale value of between £20,000 and £30,000, a previous version of the artwork was sold for a £32,000. The latest version is set to go for a higher price.
“A bronze cast of a full black bin bag painted to look real,” Turk’s website describes the art. “A bag full of discarded products, unrecycled organic matter thrown in with the by-products of our wasteful consumerist lifestyles. This rubbish is encapsulated in the formal roundness of this classic trompe l’œuil (trick of the eye) artwork. We are defined by what we throw away and conversely we are deconstructed by what we choose to display in our hallowed museum halls.”
