The German government projects a 3.3 percent inflation rate in 2022

A draft file of the annual economic report of Germany revealed that the German government expects inflation to average 3.3 percent this year, after the inflation surged to a 3.1 percent in 2021.

According to the draft, the government continues to estimate core inflation of 2.5 percent in 2022, excluding increases in food and energy prices.

The proposal is anticipated to be approved by the cabinet on Wednesday.
