Celebrate Christmas with Homemade Brinjal-Beef Ularthiyathu

Explore the delectable fusion of flavors with a homemade Christmas special – Brinjal-Beef Ularthiyathu, a South Indian delight harmonizing beef and brinjal. Follow this aromatic recipe:

*Ingredients:*
– ½ kg beef
– 1 raw banana
– 2 big onions
– 1 brinjal
– 2 green chillies
– Chilly powder (1 tsp + 2 tsp)
– 1 tsp coriander powder
– Turmeric powder (1/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp)
– Cumin seeds powder (1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp)
– Salt (as required)
– Oil (as required)
– 5 tbsp coconut milk
– ½ tsp moong dal
– Curry leaves
– 1 tsp meat masala
– ½ tsp mustard

*Preparation:*
1. Mince the beef in a mixer jar.
2. Cook the minced meat in a pressure cooker with 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp cumin seeds powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder, a pinch of salt, and 2 tbsp water.
3. Fry raw banana and brinjal pieces coated with a mix of salt and turmeric powder.
4. In a frying pan, season mustard in 2 tbsp oil, add moong dal, onions, green chillies, and curry leaves, sauté until golden brown.
5. Add remaining spices (chilly powder, meat masala, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder), sauté until the aroma dissipates.
6. Blend the spice mix with the cooked meat, then with the fried brinjal and raw banana.
7. Pour in coconut milk, close the pan with a lid for five minutes.
8. Let the curry simmer, then switch off the flame.
9. Indulge in the rich and spicy flavors of Brinjal-Beef Ularthiyathu.
