Nicholas Hoult reportedly set to star Lex Luthor in Superman: Legacy

Nicholas Hoult is reportedly in talks for a role in Superman: Legacy, with indications pointing toward him playing the character of Lex Luthor, as per information from The Hollywood Reporter. While a formal agreement has yet to be reached, ongoing discussions suggest a significant casting development in light of recent industry updates.

James Gunn, known for his work on the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, serves as both the writer and director for Superman: Legacy. The film stands as the inaugural feature in the new DC Studios universe, a collaborative effort with producer Peter Safran. The cast already includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, with both actors securing their roles in June following an extensive casting process.

Nicholas Hoult’s potential involvement introduces an intriguing element to the superhero storyline. The actor had not only been considered for the role of Lex Luthor but had also expressed interest in portraying Superman. In the end, it appears that Hoult may have found his place as the iconic villain.

Lex Luthor, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, made his first appearance in Action Comics No. 23 in 1940 and is renowned as the arch-nemesis of Superman. The character is depicted as a highly intelligent and affluent businessman, often portrayed as the owner of LexCorp. Luthor’s persona is characterized by his brilliant intellect, strategic acumen, and unwavering ambition. In contrast to many other comic book villains, Luthor lacks superhuman abilities, relying on his scientific brilliance, technological expertise, and considerable wealth to achieve his objectives.
