Commodity Market: Gold prices edge higher marginally

Mumbai: Price of sovereign gold edged higher marginally in Kerala. Sovereign gold is trading at Rs 45,680, up by Rs 200 per 8 gram. One gram gold is priced at Rs 5710, up by Rs 25. Gold price remained unchanged in the last four days.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX),  gold futures settled  at Rs 61105 per 10 gram, up by Rs 33 or 0.05% . Silver futures ended  at Rs 72,934 per kg, higher by Rs 36 or 0.05%. Gold futures on the MCX have gained by 0.28% or Rs 170 per 10 gram on the month-to-date basis. They were up by 11.08% or Rs 6,098 on the year-to-date basis.

In global markets, price of spot gold was up 0.1% at $1,993.96 per ounce. Gold  has risen 0.7% so far this week.  U.S. gold futures were also up 0.1% at $1,994.70. Price of spot silver gained 0.1% to $23.69 per ounce, platinum was flat at $915.43. Palladium rose 0.1% to $1,047.28 per ounce.

On Comex, Gold futures were trading at $1,993.60 per troy ounce, up by $0.80 or 0.04% while silver futures were trading at $23.720, higher by 0.032 or 0.14%.
