Rahul Dravid to Extend Role as Head Coach for Team India

Rahul Dravid is set to continue his role as India’s head coach, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced an extension of his contract. While the duration remains undisclosed, speculations suggest it may cover the upcoming T20 World Cup. In a statement, the BCCI highlighted productive discussions with Dravid after his initial contract expired, praising his exceptional professionalism and the team’s achievements under his guidance.

Acknowledging Dravid’s contribution to reaching the finals of the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup, the BCCI also commended V V S Laxman, who was expected to succeed Dravid. Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, credited Dravid for making Team India a formidable force, emphasizing the coach’s role in the team’s success across formats.
