Criminal trial against actor Jonathan Majors for assault starts

Actor Jonathan Majors is now facing a public trial as the criminal proceedings against him commenced today, centered on accusations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. The trial initiated at New York City Criminal Court, where Jonathan was observed entering with a Bible in hand. He exchanged greetings with friends, family, and his current partner, Meagan Good.

The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor was arrested on March 25 in connection with an alleged domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Jonathan has vehemently denied all charges and entered a plea of not guilty. The charges against him include three misdemeanors: assault, aggravated harassment, and harassment. If convicted, he could face up to a year in jail.

The alleged assault occurred during an incident where, according to court documents, Jonathan Majors was accused of infidelity by Grace. The couple, at the time, was returning from a party while sitting together in a car. During the journey, Jonathan received a text message from another woman expressing a desire to kiss him. Subsequently, Grace reportedly seized his phone to investigate. According to Grace, Jonathan responded by forcibly grabbing her body to retrieve his phone. Prosecutors assert that this resulted in bruising, swelling, and substantial pain, stating, “He intended to cause Grace Jabbari physical injury and, in fact, he did cause her physical injury.”
