‘Unknown gunmen strikes again’: Top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist killed in Pakistan

Karachi: A most wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was  gunned down by ‘unknown gunmen’ in Karachi, Pakistan. Hanzla Adnan, a top leader of LeT was killed by unknown gunmen the intervening nights of December 2 and 3. He succumbed to his injuries on December 5.

Hanzla Adnan is considered to be close to LeT chief Hafiz Saeed.  Hanzla Adnan is the mastermind behind the attack on a BSF (Border Security Force) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur in 2015.  Two BSF personnel died in the attack and 14 BSF personnel were injured. He was also considered a mastermind of the Pampore attack wherein at least eight security personnel were killed.

Several anti-India militants were killed recently in Pakistan by unidentified gunmen. According to reports, this was the 19th killing of a terrorist responsible for various attacks in India in the past 20 months.

Earlier last week, Khwaja Shahid, who was believed to be the mastermind of the 2018 attack on Sunjuwan Army Camp in Jammu, was found beheaded in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). In October, Daud Malik, who was also considered a trusted member of Masood Azhar, was killed in broad daylight in Waziristan.
