A 12-year-old girl, identified as Padmashri from Tamil Nadu, tragically collapsed and lost her life at Sabarimala on Saturday. The incident occurred at the Appachimedu stretch of the hill temple. Padmashri was part of a group that began ascending the hill around noon. Unfortunately, when they reached Appachimedu, she fell seriously ill and collapsed. Despite immediate efforts to rush her to a nearby hospital, Padmashri could not be saved. Her body was subsequently shifted to the Pampa General Hospital. Authorities indicated that the child had a history of heart problems. The Sabarimala Ayyappa temple had been experiencing a significant influx of pilgrims since Friday night, with the police facing challenges in crowd control.
