Commodity Market: Gold prices edge higher marginally

Mumbai: Gold price surged marginally in Kerala. Sovereign gold price edged higher by Rs 80 per 8 gram to Rs 45,920. One gram gold is priced at Rs 5740. Yesterday, gold price remained firm in the state.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures were trading at Rs 62,015 per 10 gram in the opening trade, down by Rs 177 or 177%. Silver futures were trading at Rs 74,559 per kg, higher by Rs 34 or 05%.

In global markets, price of spot gold was little changed at $2,019.49 per ounce. U.S. gold futures edged 0.1% lower to $2,033.20. Price of spot silver eased 0.2% to $23.76 per ounce, while platinum gained 0.1% to $940.91 and palladium slipped 1.6% to $1,155.39.

On Comex, Gold futures were trading at $2,036 per troy ounce, up $0.30 or 0.01% while silver futures were trading at $24.220, higher by $0.066 or 0.270%.
