Modi in Davos: Started with GDP growth and concluded with welcomes everyone to India for Wealth and wellness

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the plenary session of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

India also got a thumbs up from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Monday, which reaffirmed that India’s economy is projected to grow by 7.4 percent in the next fiscal year. Here is the coverage of his speech from Davos:

-Last time an Indian PM came to Davos was in 1997 when Deve Gowda ji had come. That time our GDP was little more than 400 billion dollars, now its more than six times: PM Modi

– PM talks about the Indian concept of ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ – the earth is but one family

– India has always believed in values of integration and unity, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means the entire world is one family. It is relevant to bridge distances: PM Narendra Modi at Davos

-Climate change is huge threat right now, Snow in the Arctic is melting, many islands are sinking or are about to sink: PM Modi

-Mahatma Gandhi’s Principle of Trusteeship to use things according to one’s need is important. He was against the use of anything for one’s greed. We’re today exploiting nature for our greed. We need to ask ourselves if this is our progress or regression: PM Modi.

-PM Modi says that India has been one of the biggest contributors to UN peacekeeping missions
