Can Google help you to get your dream job ?

If the title misleads you to believe that Google company has some job offers for you, well that is not the discussion here. Google has introduced a new job search feature for India called ‘Google for Jobs’. It was introduced in the US last year and it has finally made its way into India. The tech giant is working in unison with job sites like LinkedIn, TimesJobs, Quikr Jobs etc to bring the relevant job news from these sites to the user. Google could soon be that one-stop destination for all job-related queries and we may not have to wade through multiple sites to find our job.

Google’s blog post talks about 50 percent of job-related search originating from mobile, which is quite understandable in India as the current generation of job seekers spends more time online via phone. These search for jobs have gone up by a whooping 90 percent in one year.

Google’s vice president for India and Southeast Asia, Dr. Rajan Anandan said that the Small and Medium business which creates the bulk of the job deals in the country often finds it difficult to list out their offers in a place where people could find them. He added that his aim is to make the discovery of jobs easier and help people relish the opportunities near to them. Google aims to plug the gap between job seekers and providers.

Users will be able to narrow down their results using filters, save listings and create custom alerts through a google search on desktop and mobile.
