Won’t remove Jinnah’s portrait : Prof.Irfan Habib

Talking to Asianet News he has said that all these are part of the history and we should admit that. We have to condemn Jinnah’s views after 1941 but we should accept his participation in the freedom struggle for India. Professor Habib remembered the moment when he first saw Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was seven years old then and along with his father and Aligad professor Muhammad Habeeb when he met Jinnah.

It was in 1938 when Jinnah’s portrait was placed at the Students Union Hall of Aligarh Muslim University. Prof.Irfan Habib says that a controversy on this picture after 80 years is baseless.
