BJP will emerge stronger in 2019 Lok Sabha poll than 2014,says Amit Shah

BJP chief Amit Shah on Tuesday asserted that BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will emerge strongly in 2019 Lok Sabha battle with better numbers than it did in 2014.

Responding to a question on the opposition unity show at Bengaluru, Shah said that the various parties will be fighting the elections in their own restricted states or territory and that most of the parties had contested in 2014 as rivals of BJP and hence will hardly make a difference to the ruling party in 2019, implying that opposition will be busy covering its own turf against in most states.

“All the opposition parties will be busy with their own states… will Deve Gowda contest in West Bengal, what will Mamata ji (Banerjee) do in Karnataka or Chandrababu Naidu do outside of Andhra Pradesh… even in the last elections, they were all against us (BJP). How will it (their coming together) impact BJP’s fortunes? I can vouch on it today that BJP will return with greater numbers in 2019 than it did in 2014,” Shah said, when asked to comment about BJP’s rival parties trying to create an atmosphere against the ruling regime by assembling in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

“The political atmosphere is in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he reiterated. When bugles for the Lok Sabha elections are sounded, people will vote one-sidedly in Modi’s favour, he said.
