The wealth in a country is boosted by the increased safety level for women in that country, said Andrew Amoils, Head of Research, New World Wealth. The New World Wealth had conducted a research on the correlation between a country’s development and the safety of women there. Even in a developed country like the US, several high profile celebrities were attacked. There is a 92% correlation between a country’s historic wealth growth and women safety levels.

The recent report released says the UAE as the safest country for women in the MiddleEast and it will help the county’s wealth growth in the next 10 years. Amoils said that most of the countries in the top 10 were also popular destinations for migrating high net worth individuals. He also added that most of them had experienced strong wealth growth over the past 10 years. Andrew Amoils, Head of Research, New Wealth said that they expected emerging markets with good woman safety levels to be some of the world’s top performers in terms of wealth growth over the next 10 years. He hoped that countries such as Mauritius and Srilanka which had good levels of woman safety were both expected to perform very well(in terms of wealth) going forward.

Some of the world’s big economies like Nigeria found a place in the least safe countries for women in 2017. That list included countries like Somalia, Sudan, Iraq, and Syria. Most among them performed poorly in terms of wealth growth over the past few years which was probably linked to their low woman safety levels. The rising number of migrants from these countries to Europe shows that the people are fleeing these countries in search of safer places to live.

Crimes which made a country unsafe to women, which were taken as criteria for the research, included rape, slavery of woman, trafficking of woman and general assaults on a woman like physical assaults, acid attacks etc. The study also showed that out of 195 countries in the world, only 58 have reasonable crime statistics.
