Honour Killing in Kerala: Pinarayi Vijayan’s Claim Found Wrong

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s statement about the Police officer and his duty is found wrong. The honour killing in Kerala which is causing a huge public outcry was largely a case of timely inaction from the part of the police.

The complaint was lodged early in the morning by the wife of the victim Kevin, but the sub inspector delayed the investigation citing the reason that he was assigned the duty of the security of Chief minister. The inspector was forced to prioritise his duties and picked the elite job ahead of the more necessary job, but when asked about this incident, CM said an SI is not required to arrange his security and that it is done by a special team. But it has been proved beyond doubt that Gandhinagar SI M.S Shibu was assigned that task of Ministers security. He was a member of the team led by DYSP from Changanassery. CM’s shallow statement without understanding the facts properly, cut a sorry figure in contrast with the actual facts.

Kevin was allegedly killed by the goons arranged by his wife’s brother who didn’t like their marriage for Kevin’s caste and economic status. The delay in action meant that the criminals got time to get away and Kevin’s dead body was found this morning. The entire Kerala conscience has turned up the heat on this issue against Police and the government.
