For protesting against kidnapping and killing of the youngster, Cherama Sambava Development Society called for a state-wide dawn-to-dusk hartal in Kerala.
According to police, Kevin, a 23-year-old who got married to his lover Neenu in court first on May 19 and then intimated their family. He was abducted from his residence in Kottayam by an armed gang on Saturday night. Reportedly by his wife Neenu’s brother and friends, who was unhappy with the alliance.

Kevin’s dead body was found today, floating in a canal in Thenmala region, roughly 100 km from Kottayam.
Neenu and Kevin’s father allege police inaction in the case, adding that cops sat on their complaint even after all details of the abduction, names of the accused and the car number was provided to them.
The hartal is from 6 am to 6 pm. Essential services are excluded from the hartal. Earlier, BJP and UDF had called for a hartal in Kottayam district after Kevin’s assassination.
