Congress’ Seva Dal to teach nationalism to RSS

Congress is putting forward their ‘trained ‘ cadre Seva Dal volunteers across all the Indian cities to counter RSS propaganda raising the nationalist issue. Seva Dal will conduct special programmes in all Indian cities which aim at countering the RSS stand on nationalism.

The programme includes flag hoisting at selected centres and conducting “Dhwaja Vandana”(salute the flag) ceremony on the last Sunday of every month. Along with these, debates and discussions on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru will be conducted.

Seva Dal declared that they would conduct discussions on nationalism, tolerance, multi-religious beliefs and other topics based on the core principle of secularism. The scheme of the programme has been submitted to Congress President Rahul Gandhi for recognition. More details on this regard will be communicated on June 11.

Seva Dal Chief Organiser Lalji Bhai Desai said that for the last many years Seva Dal had not participated in the like kind of activities, but now on their moves will be to make their organisation stronger.

To strengthen the studies on nationalism, training camps will be set up across the country, with the first camp of its type coming up in Manipur on June 11. In that Seva Dal activists from the eastern part of the country will participate. With over 700 Seva Dal units across the country with each unit having 20 to 200 members, the cadre wing of Congress Party will be forming a youth wing to strengthen the base of the organisation.
