Nine injured due to negligent driving by a 19-year-old law student in Mumbai

Nine people were injured due to negligent driving by a 19-year-old first-year law student. The woman was driving a rental car to Bandra with her friends and due to rash driving, the accident took place near Sion. The Dharavi police have booked the woman in the case.

The woman was identified as Dhruvi Rajpal Jain. At Sion, when the signal turned red instead of applying brakes, the girl accelerated the vehicle, hitting five pedestrians before crashing into Bolero, and auto rickshaw and a scooter.

According to the police official, the girl was a first-year law student in Mumbai-based college. She is resident of Kalbadevi. The horrifying incident happened on Tuesday at around 5:30 pm, near Ambedkar Garden, Y junction, Sion road. She rented the car because her father refused to take his car.

So, Jain along with her friends decided to rent a car and roam around the city. At last, they decided to drive to Bandra when the incident happened. The complainant in the case, was Sajida Sameer Khan, 26, a resident of Kherwadi, her husband Sameer Khan, 28, and their three-month-old son, all three were hit by Jain’s car while they were crossing the road.

Also, two more pedestrians were injured in the accident, named Bibi Fatima, 27, and Arshad Syed, 38. Jain and her friends were booked under the sections of the Indian Penal Code. Also, the rented car was duly confiscated by the police
