BJP worker Lasitha Palakkal who had been on a protest sit down before Panoor C.I. office for taking action on ‘Tharikida’ Sabu for making derogatory Facebook posts against her, stopped the protest. After the CI gave assurance that the further proceedings on the case would be completed within one week, she decided to call off the sit-down.

The police had taken a case against Sabu under IPC section 354 A for degrading womanhood. But no actions have been taken so far on that case yet. Lasitha had accused the police of showing partiality in the cases of same nature and started protest before Panoor C.I. Office demanding the arrest of former SFI activist and anchor Tharikida Sabu aka Sabumon Abdusamad.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha(BJYM), BJP’s youth wing, President Advt. Prakash Babu reached the police station supporting Lasitha’s indefinite sit-down protest before the station. He made clear that the justice had been only given to the women who support the ruling Left Democratic Front(LDF).On the discussion which ensued thereafter, the police gave the word that they would take action against Tharikida Sabu within one week.
Lasitha and Prakash said that if the police did not take action within in one week, they would make stronger protests.
