Socialist Democratic Party of India(SDPI), the political wing of the fringe Islamic group Popular Front, has been recently in the news for disturbing the peaceful co-existence in Kerala. Whether in conducting a Kashmir Model protest before the Kerala High Court or on planned vicious assaults on people of other communities this organization still has not shown any remorse and has only beefed up their secessionist activities.
Scholars like M.N.Karasseri and Hamid Chennamangalur have reiterated many times on many occasions that the fringe Islamic ideology spread by the group is inimical to the social fabric of Kerala as well as the country.Prof.M.N.Karasseri is a vociferous opponent of both the Hindutwa and the Islamic forces. He had alleged Popular Front of receiving foreign money for their covert operations and that by offering hefty amount, premium liquor, free gulf tours etc to some eminent personalities in Media, Law, Human Rights Sector, Women’s rights activists, journalists, they had been whitewashing their activities under the pretense of ‘minority protection’.
This revamped Students Islamic Movement of India(SIMI) seems to be more vicious with their planned attacks and brilliant cover-ups. The organization’s students wing ‘Campus Front’ has been associated with the murders of Sachin, Vishal (ABVP activists) and also the recent murder of Abhimanyu(SFI activist). The police have been tracking down the SDPI activists involved in Abhimanyu murder through raids in their offices, religious centers, hang out places etc. But it is evident that this hardcore Islamic terror organization is scantly worried about the police or the elected government.
