This is Interesting! Mayor Sits in Protest in the WaterLogged Area

Bhopal mayor Alok Sharma on Thursday sat in the middle of a water-logged street to inspect the ground situation in the vicinity. Sharma also asserted that all agencies should work collectively to achieve better results.

“I am taking stock of the situation in different parts of the city. All agencies should work in coordination. I also called the Collector to witness the current situation so that it is not repeated,” Sharma said.

Sharma reached the spot at around 8.45am. He sat on a chair in the middle of the road and protested. Senior district administration officials called for a meeting on Saturday to resolve the issue.

The Bhopal Mayor also asserted that the municipality did their work but the PWD failed to execute their duty.”The municipality did their work; the PWD last year assured us that they will work on the road to prevent water-logging. I want to know why the work wasn’t done in one year?” said the mayor.

Sharma also said any officer who does not fulfil his duties has no right to stay in Bhopal, while warning that he would escalate this issue with the chief minister. “Any officer who does not fulfil his responsibilities shall not stay in Bhopal. I will take the matter to the Chief Minister,” said Sharma.
