An indecent video of a Class 8 boy and his classmate from Lucknow was viral on the internet last week. The video of the boy and girl hugging each other spread among close circles and outside quite quickly escalating the matter in Mohanlalganj where they live. After the video was being circulated on social media, the girl’s family lodged a police case.
The family came to know of the incident after some residents identified the boy and girl in the video and informed the girl’s parents. Before approaching the police, the girl’s family went to the boy’s house to complain, however, were turned away.

The family then decided to inform the police about the incident. According to a report in The Times of India, SHO Mohanlalganj Dhirendra Kushwaha said that a case had been registered against unidentified people under IT Act and sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Kushwaha said, “Preliminary probe has found that the video was shot last year but was uploaded and shared on social media now. We will take legal action against those who spread the video.” The administration of the educational institutions where the students belong also lodged a complaint against unidentified persons for defaming them.
