SHOCKING!!! Minor rape victim travels 75 kms to register complaint

In what can be deemed as a shocking turn of events, a minor who was raped brutally had to travel 75 km to register a complaint.

In Madhya Pradesh, a Nagara based 16-year-old girl has stepped out of her home to relieve herself when she was kidnapped by 4 men who took turns in raping her.

After committing the heinous crime, the accused had fled the scene leaving her on a farm to die on Sunday.

The victim, fight the pain had taken herself home where she told her parents of the ordeal.  Then the survivor’s mother took her to the police station to register an FIR, only they couldn’t.

The reason for not registering an FIR was the lack of female staff in the nearby police station.

As per the law, the rape complaint should always be filed by a woman constable but no woman constable was available in the police station. Moreover, there was no woman doctor in the nearby government hospital.

The survivor was then taken to a district hospital, which is around 75 kilometers from the crime spot. An FIR was lodged there but the police officials in Nagara had already begun looking for the accused.

The four accused were identified as Chandan Singh alias Sukhe, Sonpal Singh, Dharmendra Singh, and Janveer Singh.

The four accused were rounded up and produced in front of the magistrate. The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and also a rape case under the sections Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
