13 Sponsors Make Agreement with Sony for FIFA World Cup

Sony Pictures Network India(SPN) which is the official broadcaster of FIFA World Cup has made an agreement with 13 sponsors for the tournament. It is already getting closer to its target of 200 crores, even two days before the start of the event.

The Sponsors are Hero MotoCorp, Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), Volkswagen, HDFC Mutual Fund, Parle Agro, Castrol, Uber, Honda Motors, Apollo Tyres, NSE , Carlsberg, Apple, Amul and Indeed.

Rohit Gupta, president, network sales and international business, SPN, said “We have received great response from the advertisers,”

We are looking at doubling the revenue from the last world cup. Advertisers’ interest is great and talks are ongoing with a few more advertisers for spot buys,” he added.

Gupta refused to give the exact revenue while media experts think it could be anywhere between 175 and 200 crores.

The month-long FIFA World Cup 2018 will kick off in Russia on June 14 and the final will be played on July 15.

Sony ESPN will air the matches in English in Sony Ten2 and in Hindi in Sony Ten3, while you can also get Bengali and Malayalam feeds.
